His ancestral lineage inclusive of the sanad (lineage) of
Dzahabiyyah, is part of the noble lineage of from Rasul S.A.W. Similar
to other Ba’Alawi Families, he was raised and taught by his father
Al-Habib Muhammad bin Thohir bin Umar Alhaddad. His grandfather was the
renowned Al-Habib Thohir bin Umar Alhaddad, one of the great scholars
in the city of Geidun, Hadhramaut.

“Wali min Auliyah”. He made his journey from the city of Geidun,
Hadhramaut to Indonesia and settled in the town of Tegal, Indonesia. He
read and studied many books with/under his father and grandfathers
guidance. He was given various ijazahs by both his father and
grandfather for his proficiency in matters relating to Hadith and
Tafsir (i.e. Ahli Hadith wa Tafsir).
“Wali min Auliyah”. He made his journey from the city of Geidun,

He then journeyed through the various cities in Hadhramaut, seeking
knowledge from Great Scholars he met (some of which have been given the
title “Wali min Auliyah”).

At a particular instance, in which the Al-Habib wished to go for
Hajj and to meet Rasulullah S.A.W.. He sought the permission of his
grandfather Al-Habib Thohir bin Umar Alhaddad, and made his journey to
the city of Makkah and Madinah. After fulfilling his initial wishes, he
felt the need to study from the Scholars of the city of Makkan and
Madinah,

- As-Syaikh Said Babsail
- As-Syaikh Umar bin Abubakar Junaid
- Al-Habib Husin bin Muhammad Al-Habsyi (Mufti Syafi’iyah pada masa itu)
After accumulating a substantial amount of (‘ilm’) knowledge from these Great Scholars, he returned to Indonesia.
Upon
his return, he visited the Maqam of his late father, Al-Habib Muhammad
bin Thohir Alhaddad, who passed away in the year 1316 Hijri in the city
of Tegal, Central Java.

He always had a deep drive and willingness to seek knowledge no matter where he was.

was a passion that he inculcated from his grandfather, who sought
knowledge till he himself was regarded as one of the Great Scholars of

spread the knowledge that he had gathered, and held Majalis Taklin and
Lectures.
He was renowned as one of the Great Scholars and for his
knowledge of the Hadith. He passed away in the city of Bogor, Indonesia
in the year 1373 Hijri.
